When this check is useful
Use the duty check when you are dealing with:
- abrasive slurries or suspended solids;
- powders, granules or bulk materials;
- viscous, sticky or crystallising media;
- corrosive chemicals or uncertain material compatibility;
- recurring blockages, seal damage or excessive valve wear;
- a replacement valve with incomplete identification;
- an actuated valve where torque, fail position or control details are unclear;
- a new project that needs a defensible valve shortlist before quotation.
What to send us
The more complete the duty data, the more useful the first review will be.
Process medium
- medium or product name;
- concentration or composition;
- solids content, particle size and particle shape where relevant;
- whether the medium settles, crystallises, cakes or changes viscosity;
- any available safety or compatibility data.
Operating conditions
- nominal pipe size and connection or flange standard;
- normal and maximum operating pressure;
- normal and maximum operating temperature;
- flow direction and whether vacuum is possible;
- indoor, outdoor, washdown, hazardous-area or other site conditions.
Valve duty
- isolation, on/off control, dosing or regulation;
- expected operating or cycling frequency;
- manual, pneumatic or electric actuation;
- required fail position;
- available control-air pressure and control signal, if applicable;
- quantity, required date and project stage.
Existing equipment
For a replacement, include the manufacturer, model, nameplate details, face-to-face dimension and clear photographs. If the sleeve, liner or other wetted component is the suspected failure point, tell us what happened and how long it lasted.
What happens next
- We review the information and identify any critical gaps.
- We discuss the most suitable product route, which may include a PREMAFLEX pinch valve, a PTFE-lined butterfly valve, another butterfly-valve configuration or a different valve type.
- Where the duty is sufficiently defined, we prepare or progress a quotation.
- Final suitability is confirmed against the selected valve, materials, current technical data and the complete application conditions.
The duty check is an initial selection service. It is not a guarantee of chemical compatibility, service life or final engineering approval.

Do I need a complete specification before contacting you?
No. Send the information you have. The purpose of the check is to expose the details that still need to be confirmed before a reliable selection or quotation can be made.
Can you select a valve from the chemical name alone?
Usually not. Concentration, temperature, pressure, solids, cleaning conditions and the full wetted-material set can all affect suitability.
Is the check only for PREMAFLEX pinch valves?
No. PREMAFLEX is one possible route for difficult media. The application may point to a lined butterfly valve, another industrial valve or further investigation before selection.
Can you help identify a replacement valve or sleeve?
Yes. Supply the nameplate, model, dimensions and clear photographs, together with the operating conditions and failure history.
Does the duty check guarantee valve life?
No. Valve life depends on the full application and operating conditions. The check supports selection; final suitability must be confirmed for the chosen product and duty.
