Description
PREMA-SERVICE lists Valves4You Ltd under United Kingdom on its valve-technology partner page and links to valves4you.co.uk. Valves4You supplies PREMAFLEX pinch valves, replacement sleeves, spare parts and application support for Great Britain. This is manufacturer evidence of the listed relationship; it is not a claim of exclusivity.
PREMAFLEX pinch valves use an elastomer sleeve as the process-contacting shut-off element. They may provide a full-bore route for liquid, viscous, granular, contaminated, fibrous, solids-laden, abrasive or aggressive media, subject to model, sleeve, pressure, temperature, controls and application confirmation.
Confirmed PREMAFLEX model and size routes
- PQVF flanged metal pinch valves: PREMA-SERVICE’s current metal-valve page identifies nominal sizes DN40 to DN200. It lists maximum operating pressure as 4 to 6 bar depending on the configuration; the exact permissible pressure must be confirmed for the selected size and construction.
- PQVI metal pinch valves with internal threads: the same manufacturer page identifies DN20 with G 3/4 inch connections and DN25 with G 1 inch connections. It lists a maximum operating pressure of 6 bar and control air 2 to 2.5 bar above operating pressure for this route; confirm the current model datasheet before selection.
- Other metal, plastic, handwheel, spring-return and bespoke routes: these are shown in the current PREMA-SERVICE valve programme. Model, size, pressure and material details must be checked against current manufacturer data for the specific duty.
How the pneumatic route works
Control pressure acts around the flexible sleeve and closes it towards the centre line. Releasing the control pressure allows the sleeve to return to its open shape; process pressure may assist reopening. Manufacturer guidance commonly refers to a control-to-process pressure differential of about 2 bar, but the exact requirement varies by model and nominal size and must be confirmed from the applicable technical data.
Standard pneumatic behaviour is generally fail open when control pressure is lost. If that is unsafe for the process, state the required fail position so that a suitable safety circuit or alternative operating arrangement can be assessed. Also specify the available control medium, pressure, air quality, solenoid arrangement, pressure regulation, exhaust requirements and position feedback.
Sleeve and material-selection boundaries
The sleeve is the principal process-contacting wear component, so selection depends on the complete medium, concentration, solids or particle shape, abrasion, temperature, process pressure, differential pressure, cycling frequency and cleaning conditions. Do not select an elastomer from the chemical name alone. Housing, flange and accessory materials also need to suit the environment and connection standard.
Service life cannot be predicted from a catalogue description. Regular inspection and replacement planning should reflect the actual duty. For an existing valve, send the model, nominal size, sleeve markings, dimensions, process conditions and clear photographs. Browse the replacement PREMAFLEX sleeve route.
Selection checklist
- Medium, concentration, solids content, particle size and abrasive or fibrous characteristics.
- Nominal size, pipe connection and installation arrangement.
- Normal and maximum process pressure, differential pressure, vacuum if applicable, and surge conditions.
- Normal and maximum process and ambient temperature.
- Required shut-off, regulating or dosing duty and expected cycle frequency.
- Available control-air pressure and quality, required operating time and fail position.
- Sleeve, housing and flange material requirements, plus any cleaning or external-environment constraints.
- Required approvals, documentation, quantity and required date.
