This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Valves4You Ltd. We do not load third-party analytics, advertising tracking or cross-site profiling technologies.

Essential cookies

Essential first-party cookies may be used for website security, administrator login, form protection and WordPress or WooCommerce functions requested by a visitor. These cannot always be switched off without affecting the website. They are not used for advertising or cross-site profiles.

Privacy-minimised aggregate measurement

We use first-party aggregate measurement solely to understand and improve the website and its enquiry routes. The approved aggregate events are page views, Difficult-Media Duty Check starts and successful submissions, successful general enquiries, product or category quotation-link clicks, telephone-link clicks, email-link clicks, successful enquiry storage, and whether the website notification email was sent or failed.

Aggregate route information may include an internal page or landing path, form type, product ID or slug, product category and one broad traffic-source category: direct, organic search, referral, email, Apollo, campaign or paid. Aggregate rows are kept for no more than 90 days.

Measurement does not store IP addresses, full URLs, query strings, names, contact details, enquiry or duty text, user-agent fingerprints, raw UTM values, referral addresses, Apollo contact IDs or advertising click IDs. It does not create advertising profiles, cross-site profiles or individual visitor histories.

Session storage used for measurement

If you have not objected, the website uses the first-party session-storage entry v4y_attribution_v2. It contains only the first internal landing path without a query string and one broad traffic-source category. It does not contain a visitor identifier. The entry is available only for the current browser session and is used solely to add to aggregate website and source-to-enquiry totals.

On a successful enquiry, the relevant aggregate counters are incremented and the temporary attribution is discarded. It is not copied into the identifiable enquiry record. A counts-only audit on 27 August 2026 confirmed that no measurement attribution had been attached to any existing enquiry record.

Your measurement choice

You may object to website measurement at any time, free of charge. When you object, the measurement session entry is deleted, no new measurement session storage is created or read, and the website stops sending or recording measurement events from that browser.

To remember the objection, the website sets the first-party preference cookie v4y_measurement with the value off. It contains no identifier or activity history and lasts for up to 180 days unless you change the setting sooner. This is the minimum information required to respect the choice. If you later allow aggregate measurement, the preference cookie is deleted and measurement resumes from that point.

The same “Website measurement settings” control remains available in the site footer so you can review or change the preference later. Browser controls may also delete the preference cookie, in which case the website will no longer know that the browser previously objected.

Statistical-purpose exception

We intend to rely on the statistical-purpose exception in regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations for the limited first-party measurement described above. This requires the purpose to be solely statistical improvement of the service, clear and comprehensive information, aggregation without retaining individual-level information, and a simple free means to object. If the measurement is used for another purpose or expanded beyond these safeguards, the exception may not apply and the design must be reviewed before use.
